India Caught At the Wrong Foot
By Omar Hafeez
The nuclear arsenal orchestrated along borderlines, along with 1 million troops rehearsing the orchestra is prognostic of a whopping conflict about to rock South Asia. The stage is set for the first nuclear warfare in the history of mankind. Troops on both sides along line of control are exchanging heavy artillery fire and shelling, turning the vicinity into a battlefield. There is a massive movement of people to safer destinations on both sides of borders in India and Pakistan.

India has mounted its nuclear missiles on conventional warheads in critical positions along the line of control. With India empowered with reserves of 150 nuclear missiles. And Pakistan armed with 50 such accoutrements. God forbid! If war erupts and if these nuclear missies are brought into play. Estimable 9-12 million people in South Asia will vaporize in a matter of minutes and seconds. War will lead to colossal destruction of economic infrastructure, and augmented poverty on both sides. Its repercussions will be perennial. The radiation discharged by these nuclear missiles, will sunken lives of millions of people for many decades in South Asia.
According to analysts the prevailing military build up by India is the highest in the region since 1971.The build up was initiated by India back in December 2001,when Kashmiri militants attacked Indian Parliament.
India since that day has openly blamed Pakistan for exporting cross border terrorism. It has alleged Pakistan a sanctuary for harboring terrorist elements. Its dissemble media is working side by side with its government machinery in marketing this fallacious propaganda against Pakistan.
It’s worth mentioning that after 9/11 attacks India’s foreign policy has changed drastically. It is inclined to exercise a policy of relentless agro with its neighbor. It is bent upon underlying its authority in South Asia as regional powerhouse. This fact can be established from the harangue of Indian Prime Minister who calls for a decisive battle.
India is pursuing on a mission of streamlining its status among major powers like United States and China. The paradigm of Indian hostility this time is decisive and arrogant. If it’s biased demands are not met in due course by Pakistan. India will definitely trigger the landslide of war.
This subterfuge excuse of attacking terrorist targets in Pakistan will render India two purposes. And affect Pakistan in two ways.

  • It will erupt war. War will hit Pakistan socially, economically and politically.
  • It will alienate Pakistan from rest of the world.

For a moment let us flashback 31 years from now on. The era of 70’s, and the year of 1971. Pakistan was governed by a military. A military government that was caught in the quagmire of political disorder. PPP Chairman, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was staging uprisings against military. The prevailing circumstances in Pakistan are a replica of 1971 scenario. That war lead to break-up of Pakistan. But let me remind India of its part in 1971 episode.

  • Harboring terrorist elements like Mukti Bani in its own territory. The Indian Army itself trained these terrorist elements in training camps existing in its own territory.
  • Exporting these Mukti Bani’s to East Pakistan.
  • Support of these terrorist groups by every means.
  • Cooking up a provisional government of Bangladesh in its own territory.
  • Engineering a disturbing law and order situation in East Pakistan.

India cannot deny these charges. The whole world knows of its contribution in 1971 war. But the cancer that Mrs.Indira Gandhi injected into East Pakistan has spread into her own country. The dismembering of Pakistan may have fulfilled its national aspirations. But did manufacture a spirit of revolution among people. If Bengalis did it why can’t we? This question was given birth in 1971 along with Bangladesh. People of Nagaland and Kashmir are trying to figure out the answer.
India by no means can vandalize Kashmiri struggle. The insurrectionists are Kashmiris themselves, not exported Pakistanis. The domineering posture of India for well over half a century is programming Kashmiris to rise for the cause of self-determination. With the passage of time the resistance of Kashmiri people will strengthen. More freedom fighters and suicidal bombers will emerge. India’s worries will increase.
The brutal murder of Hurriyat Conference Leader, Abdul Ghani Loon in presence of Indian Security personals is an evidence of India’s Pharaoh rule in Kashmir. But for Kashmiris the death of this noble man will further ignite their jingoism to drive out India from their homeland. India is responsible for conducting genocidal activities in Kashmir. It is accountable to United Nations for manslaughter of millions of Kashmiris. Many Human rights organizations have questioned the atrocious rule of India in Kashmir.
May be by going to war India can exude its frustration, anger and remorse of 54 years. But before venturing into such a pessimistic adventure, Indian leaders need to go through history books.
History is capable of repeating itself, but this time round with the mastermind itself. India mastermind collapse of Pakistan in 1971.Now this Indian provoked war can mastermind its disintegration.
