Harrison Ford was born on
July 13 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Christopher
and Dorothy. He has one younger brother, Terence
(born April 1945) who has also worked as an actor
from time to time.
He first took up acting while attending Ripon College,
Wisconsin and after he failed to earn his degree,
it became a full-time career. After spending the
summer of 1964 acting on the stage, he and his wife
Mary set off for Hollywood.
He was almost immediately signed up by Columbia
Pictures as a contract player and he made his film
debut in Dead Heat on a Merry Go Round (1966) as
a bellhop. He had one line of dialog and wasn't
even billed. Unfortunately, none of his subsequent
parts were much bigger and he was eventually fired
by Columbia. Before long, he was on the books at
Universal and though he didn't have any significant
film parts,he did appear in several TV shows such
